We are pleased to inform you that the Transport authority of Maldives has introduced off shore and off shore port service, a new regulation on off shore shipping and off port limit services, introducing the services to foreign vessels seeking to anchor in Maldivian waters.
This regulation would allow ships to anchor or wait in designated off port areas and to gain services such as bunkering, transfer for goods between vessels, anchorage for repair and maintenance, and the exchange of crew, surveyors and seamen.
This will allow the large vessels and small vessels to anchor or stop outside the port limit and receive services from the designated areas; off Haa Alif Uligamu and Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi in the north of the country, off the capital Kaafu Male' in the central area, and off Seenu Gan in the South of Maldives. It mandatory for the vessel to retain the services of a local agent if they are seeking off port limit and off shore services in the Maldives.
This will benefit and the vessel operators and handling agents, charters and the owners. This will allow the Bunkering purposes, crew change, provision purpose, emergency and sea-marshal and embarking and disembarking the vessels etc
This will required minimal formalities and documentation form the government and concern authorities. There are no requirement of customs clearance this will allow the to save lot of time and money for you and for us.
